+ A special playlist from Wednesday Social Party
Whether you’re new to Bachata or you’ve been dancing for years, one thing always brings us together: the music. 💃🕺
But let’s be honest, sometimes it’s hard to find good Bachata songs, especially when you’re just starting out. You hear a song during class or at a party and think, “This is AMAZING, what’s the name?” But then… It’s gone. The moment passes, and you’re back to scrolling random playlists on Spotify, trying to find that same vibe.
That’s why we asked some of our instructors at Bachata Studio Tallinn to share their current 2 favorite songs—the ones they’re obsessed with, the ones they use in class, or just the ones that instantly get them in the mood to dance.
PLUS: scroll to the end for a 🔥 playlist straight from DJ Miguel.
Let’s dive into what your favorite teachers are dancing to!
Lunita

“For the energy and joy “Esa Mujer” brings, makes me instantly dance, it’s about love and for once it’s not a sad heartbreak song, but really it’s about how happy he is to be in love and how much he adores his woman . It’s just a high vibe song! Those are not even my current fav but ALL TIME fav never got tired of them“

“For full fusion vibes, I’m loving “It’s OK I’m Okay” — it brings out my more urban, playful side and just makes me want to move.
My other top pick this month is “DRAMA” — the vocals are so powerful and the musicality is super interesting. It really pulls you in!“
Johannes

“I Want It That Way” is a classic hit in a fresh Bachata version! It’s nostalgic but super danceable, and it always puts me in a good mood.
“El 23” Loving the swaggy vibe of this one. It’s not overplayed at socials yet, so it still feels fresh every time I dance to it!“
Fabian

“Right now my 2 favorites are “Power” and “Like You Mean It” by DJ CAT. Both songs hit deep emotionally — they really push you to express yourself. The musicality is tricky and exciting, so you have to stay sharp. You can’t just go through the motions — these songs make you feel everything. The connection with your partner has to be real, and you end up dancing with your heart in your hands. 💥🖤“
Roberto

“I love the song *Serrenata” one for its fusion-style rhythm and the positive energy in the melody. It’s smooth, feel-good, and always lifts the vibe. Solo Tú” – This song starts out soft, but if you tune into the instrumentation, you’ll hear a beautiful guitar line that really shines. It’s a great example of classic, authentic Bachata with a modern twist—perfect for dancing and listening.“
Sorush

“Both of these songs “Calentura” and “Travesuras” have it all — a touch of funk, a fusion feel, and a bit of sensual Bachata vibes. They bring together different moods and styles in one song, which makes them super fun to dance to and keeps the energy alive. That’s why I love them!”
Miguel

“I like “Dos Locos” & “Tu Primer Amor” – these songs have a good flow and energy in it and i really like Esme and Jalil Lopez songs overall“
Jeremy

El amor de mi vida – Montelier
“I just love the vibe of the song, it’s so sweet and romantic and it makes me think of my girlfriend everytime I hear that song!”

Mi contradicción – Akai Rojas, Sebas Garretta
“I really like the melody of the song along with the different sections including the very strong guitars and mambo section that makes me feel very energetic and expressive.”
Yuri

“This is the first song that comes to mind whenever I hear the word “Bachata.” It was the one that first inspired me to dance—my gateway into this whole beautiful world.”

JR. – Dos De Mi (ft Mickey Then)
“This track made me fall in love with modern Bachata fusion. It captures everything I love about the new wave of Bachata music—the creativity, the emotion, and the evolution of the genre.”
Rainer

Amigos (con Maria Becerra – Bachata)
“For me, I really appreciate if the song is well built with different energies, and if the song is with a different energy/vibe than the normal, i like it even more!“

“And I also love some of the more old school songs that some have forgotten, but again, the variation of energies in this one makes it one of my favourites!“
Why This Matters (Especially for Beginners!)
- Music = muscle memory. Practicing songs you enjoy helps you remember steps and rhythms better.
- Get inspired. Knowing what your instructors love gives you a peek into their personality and style.
- Expand your playlist. Most of us start with the big names (Romeo, Prince Royce), but there’s a whole world of artists waiting for you.
And if you’re ever in doubt?
📱 Ask your teacher what song they just used.
